Dr. Russell C. Davis had lived in Marion and Waterloo, IA and Germany before settling in Clear Lake. Russ received his B.A. and M.A. from UNI and his doctorate while he lived in Berlin, Germany, in 1981. He was a guidance counselor in Iowa and in Berlin at the John F. Kennedy Schule. In the middle 60's, Dr Davis was the Senior American Editor/ Radio Journalist for Deutsche Welle Radio located in Cologne, Germany.

Russ married the former Deanna Bentley in August of 1972. In the last few years, he had worked in several capacities as a consultant as well as a self-employed family counselor. He wrote several magazine articles and books including a book for policemen to help deal with hostage takers. Russ also wrote a book about Mountain Man lore, because he loved that part of American history.

He also was very involved in hypnotherapy and became an APRT Board Member and editor of the Journal of Regression Therapy. He was the head of an agency that certified Regression Therapists (IEBRT). He was a trainer for police officers at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, and was the head of Midwest Law Enforcement Consultants.

Dr. Davis is survived by his wife, Dee, sister, Zepha Mae Turner, of Springville, IA, and her family, and his father, Alfred Davis, also of Springville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Davis, and a sister, Kathleen.

He was a recent resident of Clear Lake and fell in love with the lake the instant he saw it. He spent time sitting by the lake and enjoying the sail boats. Dr. Davis was a loving husband, dear friend, uncle and cared very much for all people in pain.

Russ will be missed by all who knew him and especially by APRT.

Dee Davis and family have requested that in honor of Russ, donations can be made to APRT at PO Box 20151, Riverside, CA 92516.
