In Memoriam
Our dear friend, Linda Adler,
transitioned to the other side peacefully in her sleep early
Sunday morning, February 13, 2011. She was a past president of
IARRT and very well liked.
Let us take some time for Linda and remember how much she did
for IARRT while she graced our lives with her presence.
Thoughts and fond memories of Linda
Adler by Maggie van Staveren:
When I first joined IARRT, I was at the conference and I
remember a small group meeting on one side of the cafeteria.
They were talking and working hard on something during
lunchtime. It was Jeff Ryan, Janet Cunningham, Joseph Costa and
Linda Adler. At the time I had no idea what it was they were
working on. Later I realized this was the group of people who
designed the IARRT training. Linda was an integral member of
this committee.
At one point I wanted to sit in on Linda's Level 1 class to
observe how she taught this class. She was gracious and allowed
me to be part of the class and I was glad to have seen her in
action. She was a great teacher and compassionate with the
students who were clients when she did the demonstrations and
practice.
As an IARRT member, I remember Linda's enthusiasm as she
organized conferences and I appreciated her sense of humor,
organizational skills and ability to move the event along so
everyone knew what was happening and where to go.
I was on the Board when Linda was IARRT President and we had the
discussion about the name change from APRT - Association for
Past-Life Research and Therapies to IARRT - International
Association for Regression Research and Therapies, Inc. This
meeting was a hard working meeting and inspired. Under Linda's
direction we worked for two days, really got into it, and by the
end the organization had it's name revised. I remember feeling
tired but happy that in spite of the hard work, we had
accomplished an important goal at Linda's direction.
I am glad to have known Linda Adler as an IARRT member, Board
member and President.
Memories of Linda from Connie Brooks
Besides being a past President of IARRT, Linda Adler was my
friend.
She was very business like and had strong feelings about APRT/IARRT.
After I made a couple of trips to the Law Library here in
Riverside, Linda helped me get through all the paperwork for
IARRT's name change, via the telephone. She was on the other
side of the country living in Florida at the time. Together we
made it work.
She was a strong President and with her help we had good
speakers and good conferences. She was a tough negotiator with
the hotels to get us the best deals. She was also on the staff
for our Regression Training and a well liked Instructor.
I remember a wonderful "Pipe Ceremony" that she shared by the
pool one Friday evening at a Conference. And I also remember a
conference at A.R.E. in Virginia Beach when she was making
announcements in front of a beautiful wall hanging of an angel
with all these wonderful aura colors. It was like that Angel
was just there for her. I have had a picture of it on my office
wall for many years now and it always makes me feel like she is
close by.
After board meetings and conferences there were always great get
togethers for all involved for fun and laughing. She made it a
good time. One such memorable gathering, after a board meeting
dinner, was in San Antonio, Texas on the River Walk. We became
fast friends there. Even though we lived many miles apart, we
were, and always will be, close in heart.
Memories of Linda from Douglas Pratt:
I was very saddened to learn of Linda’s imminent transition. I
had met Linda as the instructor for my Level I regression
training. I soon found her to be a true master teacher. She
smoothly and easily conveyed both the content and the nuance of
the material. This class created a very solid foundation for all
of the work that has followed, either regression work or
psychospiritual therapy. I even continue to use her induction in
my sessions today. She was able to expand my conceptualization
and application of regression therapy even in this introductory
course.
I have always greatly appreciated all of this. My only regret is
I never had the opportunity to thank her for this wonderful
introduction. So, thank you Linda Adler for your incredible
compassion and wisdom and for being that immortal master
teacher. May your time in the light be blessed with ease and
playfulness.
